The Acer Swift 3 (2021) is not only our favourite Acer laptop right now, but it’s also one of the best mid-range laptops money can buy.

At just 1.14kg, we found this 14-inch laptop to be incredibly portable. While its silver shell may appear a little plain to some, the metal and plastics used in its build also make this feel like a well-built laptop. We found the keys to be responsive with a good level of tactility. The fact it’s backlit is an added bonus, although the backlight itself did look a little patchy, with some keys seeming to be more lit up than others.

Inside, the Swift 3 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 5500U processor that, during testing, powered through basic productivity tasks and shined during our benchmark tests, beating off the likes of the Surface Laptop Go in more intense tasks. Its integrated Vega 7 graphics allowed us to engage in some casual gaming, and handled lighter workloads well. We also found the 1TB SSD to be reasonably speedy, and the capacity for a laptop this price is also generous, with a lot of the competition opting for 256GB or 512GB drives.

For its display, Acer hasn’t gone with anything too fancy for the Swift 3, opting for the tried-and-tested formula of a 14-inch FHD (1920×1080) IPS panel. The colours on offer looked good, and 300 nits of quoted brightness also made sure images look vibrant. As an IPS display, we also found the viewing angles here to be superb.

The Swift 3’s battery life also proved to be great during testing. In running our PC Mark 10 Modern Office benchmark, we found the Swift 3 to last for just shy of 11 hours. This means you’ll be able to get through a working day comfortably and have a fair bit of juice to spare.

The Creator economy has just started to consolidate - which is why now is the best time to start looking into influencer marketing as a brand or become a creator yourself.

However, the biggest issue is the monetary compensation for influencer services.

When it comes to setting the payment amount it is still an informal practice. Influencers either agree on terms offered to them or they set their own minimum requirement.

With the LeaLi campaign as a brand, you can set your own price (establish how much you are willing to pay) and wait for responses from the influencer side. However, it is important that you do not undervalue the work and set the payment reasonably to get the result you are expecting.

Influencers get paid at a different rate due to determining factors like engagement rate, follower count, content type, or niche to name a few. If we were to use the follower count perspective, an influencer with 10,000 followers can potentially charge $100 per post while those with 100,000 followers can earn $1,000 per post. Big influencers with 1 million followers and above could charge $10,000 per sponsored post. However, this is not the only determining factor.

Refer to the following factors when establishing a reward for your next campaign:

Followers

The primary metric is used to categorise an influencer. And the most faked one.

The number of followers determines the reach or essentially how many people will see your ad placement. The more people see your ad - the higher the price you have to pay.

However, more doesn’t always mean better.

Engagement Rate

If you see someone with 100k followers and just 68 likes per post - this is a sign that the profile has fake followers.

An influencer’s engagement rate will create somewhat of a practical estimation of the potential number of people that will actually engage with a post.

For example, you have two influencers, both with 10k followers each.

Influencer A has an average engagement rate of 10%.

Influencer B has an average engagement rate of 2%.

What does this mean?

Influencer A: 10% engagement rate of 10,000 followers = 1,000 engaged people

Influencer B: 2% engagement rate of 10,000 followers = 200 engaged people

Higher engagement means a higher potential for conversions.

Now, let’s make it a little more interesting with another scenario.

Influencer C has 100,000 followers with an average engagement rate of 10%

Influencer D has 150,000 followers with an average engagement rate of 5%

Who do you think is more valuable?

Influencer C can potentially attain 10,000 engaged people on a post, while influencer D’s engaged audience is estimated at 7,500 despite having 50k more followers than their counterpart.

Talent Requirements

Some creators with unique talent or skill may charge more than others regardless of their number of followers. For example, an influencer with 10k followers that publishes a picture is not the same as an influencer with 10k followers that publishes a video.

Writing a blog post is also another talent.

And producing a 1-minute Instagram video is not the same value as a 20-minute YouTube video.

The more effort you expect from the influencer - the higher the payment should be.

Keep that in mind when you are filling in the brief with your requirements.

Duration of the campaign

Once-off promotions are pretty straightforward and standard rates are usually applied in these scenarios.

However, it’s really not ideal to work with an influencer for a single-post promotion.

It is recommended to run an influencer campaign over a period – for many reasons. Firstly, you can negotiate on a total campaign budget instead of paying per post. Secondly, there is room to perfect the execution of the campaign for the duration based on data insights at every stage.

The Lifespan of Published Content

Not all influencer posts are published permanently. The collab agreement will specify the period that sponsored posts should be up on the influencer’s account. Whether it’s a few days or weeks, or months – this “airtime” will come at various rates.

Types of Influencers

The price tag of an influencer may depend on the type of influencer you’re dealing with. A newbie influencer, for example, may probably be the easiest and the cheapest to please. They’re starting out and keen to build their portfolio so they’ll agree to even the basic rewards, such as a commission on sales.

A celebrity influencer, on the other hand, is in-demand and not always available. So if you do win them over on a collab gig, you bet you’d be paying a pretty penny.

Apple Watch 7 is the biggest name right now on the market. It is the latest smartwatch from Apple and succeeds Apple Watch Series 6. The Watch 7 is a beauty to behold, it’s compact, lightweight, and very stylish too. It now has a larger screen-to-body ratio, brighter display, and fast charging. And with Watch OS 8 out of the box, the Watch 7 welcomes new watch faces, a reflect feature in the Mindfulness app, a new contact app, respiratory rate while sleeping, and new workout modes. It comes in two sizes and in cellular and GPS models. As well as features a massive 32GB storage. However, battery life hasn’t improved.

Apple Watch Series 7

The Watch 7 is a very fine smartwatch. Its also a very compact and comfortable smartwatch to wear. It comes in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm. Unlike Watch 6 down to 4 which all have a 40mm and 44mm sizes. This is as a result of the larger unspecified display of the Watch 7.

The GPS-only of Watch 7 is available in only aluminum material while Iox-glass protects the screen.

The GPS-only model comes in aluminum material and is available in blue, green, red, starlight, and midnight colors.

The Watch 7 is rated 5ATM which means that it’s waterproof up to 50meters. It is also rated IPX7 which means that it’s dustproof. And that’s to say the Watch 7 is a durably built device.

Apple has failed to specify the display sizes of the Watch Series 7. Nevertheless, the Watch 7 has a larger screen-to-body ratio and the company claims it’s 20% wider than the Series 6 and 50% wider than the Series 3. If our calculations are correct, it means that the Watch 7 41mm has a display size of 2 inches approx, while 45mm has a display size of 2.1 inches approx.

The GPS-only model is only available in aluminum which comes in 5 colors

Just like its predecessor and older models of Apple watches, the Watch 7 is fitness-focused. It comes with an improved heart rate sensor, compass, altimeter, gyroscope, and accelerometer. All these enable it to track your calories, sleep, steps, heart rate, floors climbed, and more.

New workout modes like Tai Chi and Pilates have been added. It also features a new respiratory rate tracking during your sleep. There is also a new Reflect feature in the mindfulness app that helps you set an intention and center yourself with a beautiful animation.

Regular features like blood oxygen measurement, ECG, and hearing protection are all present. It also has an inbuilt GPS that will allow you to track your outdoor activities like routes and locations.

International emergency calling and SOS emergency calling features are also present. As well as the incidental fall detection which has now been improved.

The Watch 7 has a 32GB storage capacity just like the Watch 6. It also has a microphone and loudspeaker. This supports the Apple Siri voice assistant which allows you to do simple tasks with your voice as well as the ability to make and receive calls.

You can access Apple Music which gives you access to 75 million tracks of musical motivation riding on your wrist. Podcasts and audiobooks are also available. Subscription may be required to access Apple Music.

You can manage calls, SMS, and app notifications with the Watch 7. With a larger and brighter display, it’s easier to reply to notifications. You can now access the new QWERTY keyboard and you also use the digital rotating crown to scroll precisely to correct errors in texts.

You can reply to notifications with your voice, texts, or emojis. And because the Watch 7 has a microphone and loudspeaker, you can make and receive calls directly from the with your phone being nearby. The LTE model does not require your phone to make and receive calls.

There is also a new contact app just like you have it with Samsung’s Galaxy watches. The contact app will allow you to easily access contacts stored on your iPhone directly on the Watch 7. This makes it easier to make and manage calls.

WatchOS 8 is the new operating system that powers the Watch 7, 6, SE, 5, 4, and 3. It comes with new features like the addition of new watch faces as well as new workout modes. You can now access the Reflect feature in the mindfulness app to help you return back to calm. Other features include the addition of a contact app that allows you to easily access contacts stored on your iPhone directly from the watch. The new operating system also allows you to create multiple timers as well as gesture control and many more features.

Despite having a larger and brighter display, the Watch 7 has about 18hrs of battery life just like older models down to Watch 3. This is lower than what you get with the Galaxy Watch 4. Nevertheless, the Watch 7 has fast charging which Apple claims is 30% faster than Watch 6.

Pros: The MacBook Air with M1 delivers almost everything you could want in an Apple laptop thanks to its M1 chip, which enables excellent performance and battery life. Specifically, the MacBook Air lasted for 14 hours and 41 minutes on our battery test, making it one of the longest-lasting laptops around, even longer than its succesor.

Our MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM scored a resounding 5,962 on the Geekbench 5.2 overall performance test, crushing the XPS 13 (5,319, Core i7-1165G7) with an 11th Gen (Tiger lake) Intel Core. The Surface Laptop 3 (4,791) with 10th Gen Intel chips dropped further behind, but still topped the category average (4,178).

The screen is sharp, too, with a 2560 x 1600-pixel resolution. The M1 Air supports the P3 color range for punchier tones and True Tone, which adjusts the color temperature on the display based on ambient lighting conditions.

Another feature is Touch ID, which makes it easy to unlock the system, make secure payments, and replace passwords. The MacBook Air's 720p webcam isn't going to replace the best external webcam, but the M1 chip gave it a boost to performance, and the system supports iOS and iPadOS apps, although we haven't seen massive uptake on that feature.

The MacBook Air, at 12 x 8.4 x 0.6 inches and 2.8 pounds, is larger than the Dell XPS 13 (11.6 x 7.8 x 0.6 inches, 2.8 pounds), but more compact than the 13.5-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 (12.1 x 8.8 x 0.6 inches, 2.9 pounds).

Cons: Two USB-C ports aren't enough for most people so be ready to use a dongle. Also, the MacBook Air isn't the most compact or lightest 13-inch laptop, and the display bezels that were chunky in 2020 are only harder to take in 2023. Speaking of which, it's getting a little long in the tooth after 2.5 years, but Apple still sells it directly and will support it for years to come.
